Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your Zombie Hikers account and the data attached to it. Deletion is permanent and immediate: there's no grace period and no way to undo it.

1. From the app itself

It's the fastest way and you don't need to write to us:

• Open Account from the main menu.
• Scroll down to Delete account.
• We ask you for two confirmations: in the first we tell you what gets deleted and what is kept, and in the second that there's no going back.

Once it's done, the app goes back to the start as if you'd just installed it.

It works the same whether you signed in as a guest or used a Google or Apple account.

2. By email

If you've already uninstalled the app, or you'd rather ask us, write to [email protected] from the address you signed in with, or telling us your player name.

We answer within one month, and usually within a few days.

3. If you stop playing and do nothing

You don't have to do anything for an abandoned account to disappear: an account with 90 days of no activity at all is deleted automatically, with all of its data.

4. What gets deleted

• Your account and the way you signed in (Google or Apple), and your email address if you used one.
• Your player name.
• Your characters, your progress and everything they were carrying: the backpack and whatever they had equipped.
• The steps read from your phone's health app.
• The radio messages and the notes you wrote.

Anything you left lying around the world or stored in a stash isn't yours anymore: it stays there for whoever comes past.

5. What is kept, and for how long

A few things outlive the account, and only for as long as the law or the safety of the other players requires:

Any games you had created go on existing for the people who were playing in them, but there's no personal data of yours left inside.

Watch out for one thing: deleting a game wipes its messages and its notes for everybody who was playing, not just for you.
