This page explains what this website stores in your browser. It isn't about the game: what the app handles is in the privacy policy.

1. What we always store

There's only one thing stored without asking you, because without it the site can't work:

Look at what the last three do: they store your refusal. If we took them out, we'd have to ask you again on every page you opened. That's why they can't be switched off.

2. What we only store if you let us

Everything else is off until you press “Accept”. Until you do, this site doesn't load a single file from Google.

Analytics

It tells us which pages get visited and how people get to them, in aggregate. It's there so we know whether what we write is of interest to anyone. It's run by Google through Google Tag Manager.

Marketing

It lets us measure whether our campaigns are worth anything and show you Zombie Hikers ads outside this site. Also Google.

3. How we tell Google

We use Google's Consent Mode v2, which in practice means this: before anything loads, the browser tells Google what your decision is on four settings.

All four start out denied, on every visit and before anything loads. They only turn to granted if you authorize it.

4. Changing your mind

Whenever you want, and without having to write to us: at the very bottom of any page there's the “Cookie settings” link. You can accept, reject or pick one category and not the other.

You can also delete everything this site has stored from your browser settings. If you do, we'll ask you again next time.
